Manchester Velodrome cycle jumble 4th Jan - cancelled - Altrincham news soon

Is this a one day show also the other show york thats had to move is that the 12th to the 14th is that day shows or tents etc i never been to any bike shows and this one (velodrome)is the closet to me so i want to go to at least one probably this one thanks

The Manchester velodrome event is on Sunday 4th Jan, it is indoors in the velodrome, but unlike last year (where it was in the inside space at the centre of the track where the cyclists warm up/down between events) this time it will be in the circular balcony are above the track where there is a large area for the expected hundreds of vendors to put out stalls and bikes for sale. It is usually a well attended event and a mix of road, MTB, modern and vintage, plus clothing and all manner of accessories and parts, if it's collectable it will be there. The bikecreche organised event is usually twice annually

Thanks mate i have to try and get some pennies togher bit mad date to have it straight after xmas i have a look into it trains times stations were it is etc do you pay to get in

Manchester Velodrome isn't a show, it's just a bike jumble (although still plenty of cool things to see). You can usually access though any of the entrances to get to the front desk for tickets & admittance to the cycle track area.

York (now Driffield) is a show, so a variety of activites (rides out, talks, demonstrations etc) and things to see across lots of cycling 'genres'. Usually runs over 3 days, so a lot of people camp. There is also a bike jumble. Been going 100 years!

Closest train station to Velodrome is probably Piccadilly. But Victoria not too bad either. You can get a tram straight to the Etihad which is next door, or cycling infastructure is decent (i use the canal). Loads of bike parking as you might expect :)

Update from Paul Wilson, the Jan 4th event at Manchester Velodrome is now cancelled :-(
Sadly it seems there were issues with where it was to be hosted - so will now not happen.
This does make me more determined than ever to host events in Altrincham in the new year so watch this space for updates very soon

That's a bummer. It was a highlight of the winter for me.
All the best with organising an alternative.
Haydock Race Course is an alright location. Don't know what the fees are tho.
