Does anybody know of a website where I can see a map of gas mains in the uk?
I'm thinking of moving, not far, but some areas local to me have mains gas and some don't.
Ta

i have them on my laptop, but they are not available to the public!

i work for the gasboard

You don't want to get lumbered with lpg, especially BP LPG - B4stards!
You get stuck on a 2 year contract, and you can only buy from your contracted supplier. BP price, 68.45p per litre. Shell, 43p per litre, calor, 42p per litre, Flogas, 43p...
And who puts a call centre in the Gorballs? Ask them to speak slower cos your a bit mutton and can't understand the accent... "What accent, I dNgERXCT have a fookin accent...."
Bye Bye Toxic Tony. :P

.

Getting lumbered with LPG would be better than being on oil like I am now.
70p a flipping litre  with the VAT rise to come :?
Might buy an older place and go for Log burners.

Come on Mr Saltyman i only want one for an area 10 miles radius of Ammanford

Same problem here, no gas, no lpg but just heating oil that is rapidly getting close enough to diesel

.

I moved here in 2003 and oil was 16p a litre, so 1000 litres was £160 which lasted about 6 months.
Fast forward to 2011 and its 70p ish a litre, so £700 for 1000 litres or £1400 per annum :(
Log burners look like the way forward :D

on the 22nd september 2010 I ordered 1500 litres it came in at £633.37

I called 3 days before chrimbo thinking I'll get some in before it goes any further and was quoted £1,096.13 for the very same 1,500 litres

my pay was frozen this year..so will my house be

No mains gas in my village despite just being able to see the Shell Stanlow refinery from the back bedroom! I think that the main gas line into north Wales is less than 1/4 mile from my house and there is a huge underground emergency storage site close by, quite frustrating really.
I had intended on getting oil or LPG at some point but have just being putting it off, managed so far with a single log burner and electric fires, house is still ice cold as it's old with crap insulation.
