I still can't find any info on the threads, but the hose that connects lever and caliper has fine 8mm threaded connectors, and the crossover hose has coarse 6mm connectors. The magura and shimano olives look pretty similar in size and shape. I'll take my old hoses to the LBS tomorrow and compare against the new shimano ones he has. I'm hoping that the shimano hose will have the same 8mm threaded connectors, or if not, that I'll be able to use the shimano hose but with my existing magura connectors.

So it turns out that the shimano cable packs also some with 8mm fine threaded connectors 
I think the shimano hose should work no problem at all with the maguras.
Anyone know what the difference is between magura disc only hose and the rim brake only hose? Any problem using a disc hose with rim brakes???
