Mag Wheels ?

Hello everyone :) Im new to the forum so I really hope you guys can help me. I am thinking about building up and old/retro 26" wheel'd bike and i really like the idea of getting some "mags" I believe they are called. Do you know where abouts you can get these or even if you have some :). Please find the pictures below.

Hi there and welcome,
I think the term 'Mags' comes from BMX bikes more than MTB's, which in turn got it from the car world, where magnesium alloy wheels were a 'grail' item, coming from the motorsport world, then in the late '60's and 70's 'slot mag' wheels were very popular, particularly with car customisers, in truth they weren't magnesium, but aluminium.
The only other wheels that aren't a traditional wire spoke design that I can think of are Spin, very similar to the Tri Spoke wheel in your picture and Spinergy which are a 4 spoke double sided design.
Hope that helps :?:.

I see the type that are orange pop up for sale every now and then :D

I don't know the make or model though :-(

WD :D

ps : welcome 8)

pps : it's going to get expensive

That does help thank you. I am really interetsed in the top row of images as they are my favourite and fit my 26" criteria. Does anyone have any for sale and where abouts should I be posting ?
Exspensive.... How much should I be paying for a rear and front seperate ?

Expensive hobby dude, not aimed just at the wheels

I like the blue ones best but haven't seen them before :D

WD :D

Money is ok for me I just don't want to be paying over the top as Im not educated in all this :). For that red rear wheel is £40-50 to much money ?

Grimeca mate. Thats the most common make, available in 26" flava, pop up on ebay regularly. Usually only accept a screw on freewheel 'tho. 8)
