don't see why it won't work if its been built out of decent quality marine ply
dont forget the mosquito fighter bomber was made out of plywood,and the rear half of a hurricane was ply and canvas stretched over the top,fairly certain that they went through more tension,compression and g force than a bike will and of course not forgeting people shooting at you



setting fire to it and riding it,would however be a different matter!!!!
mind you early in the year there was a student who built a bike out of honycombed cardboard-reckond on it lasting 6 months then recycle it

Mate of mine once tried a broom handle length as handlebars, lasted about five minutes and one kerb.
