Now this really ticks me off. I was bidding on these last week when they sold for about £25 on ebay.

:x :x :x

Best of luck with the sale, but I hope that I can convince people NOT TO BUY THESE due to blatant profiteering.

Unless you also happen to have a single Machinetech brake, in identical condition AND with 2 pairs of coolstop pads (1 red, 1 black). wouldn't THAT be a coincidence?

Oh, Look, I found the sale!

No problem with anyone trying to make a profit.

The only time I would be concerned is if someone tried to profit out of something he had bought off this site, taking advantage of the goodwill of another retrobike member.

If the price is too high it won't be bought, and I'm sure retrobikers who were interested would have bid on ebay.

Oh dear oh dear.
I actually bought these to use myself then had an impulsive ebay moment and bought a whole bike to cannibalise for parts for the frame im building up.
Mmm thinks I after the occasion, what am I going to pay for said bike with? maybe i'll sell the parts that id already bought that are no longer needed.
Mmm I wonder what the going rate for one of these is? A quick keyword search on here shows the last pair sold for 120 euros, As it had sold that must be its market price, halve it as theres only one, allow £5.00 for special delivery postage and packaging and maybe a little leeway for potential bartering, if it sells I am on my way to paying off the indian fire trail that I just bought. If theres anybody here who has never turned a profit to pay for a project then i'll hang my head in shame and never sell on that basis here again but I have an inkling that maybe it does go on and I dont believe theres anything wrong with that.
By the way theres a set on ebay.com running at 395 dollars if anybody wants a pair in red.

Not quite, my friend. The last set (of front and rear) that sold on here were mine.

They were in as new condition, and I sold them to Matt70 for $125 CAD shipped International Air, which works out to 80 quid. We don't mind people turning a profit, but don't take us for rubes.

Quite. The next sentence says "halve it" which is what I have done hence £ 65 inc p+p not £120.
Sorry if it is causing too much of a stir, like I say im just trying to cover another purchase at what (as far as I could see) was the going price.
