Old School Grand Master
:) I did the worst thing ever the other day, one of my inlaws came round to look after our younglings and asked if she could use the internet  all seemed to be well , until after 40 mins having left home, we got a phone call saying that she could not access the internet   This was after spending about an hour prior to leaving explaining how to switch it on let it run through all the stuff etc, then how to move the cursor using the pad  she runs a PC at home... that I am sure has a rat running on a wheel or something processing the damm thing  anyway after explaining over the phone , like a step by step guide call centre or something    I got her on line , and I thought champion.. anyway when I arrived home , I logged onto the net only to find that the URL or address bar where you can enter a web address has disappeared   I asked her what she had done and got the expected answer of 'I did not do anything'   Can anyone tell me how I get this back please... help me Obi-Wan your my only hope

Move the cursor to where the address bar was, put two fingers on the pad and press the mouse key to open the Customize Toolbar menu. Drag the default toolbar back on to the top of the Safari window; Robert's your Fathers Brother.

:? Tried that and it seems to just open up another tab ? :? :) 'Walks away scratching head !!' :?

Don't do it where the shortcuts/tabs are. You are effectively 'right-clicking'. Do this at the top of the Safari window either side of where it has the page title (but don't click on the title or it'll give browsing history).

I assume you know how to use the touch pad and key to get the 'right-click' menus up? If so, you are looking for the 'Customize Toolbar...' menu.
