I have never used one... After my time.
But you'll need an E type bottom bracket as well they give a little extra space. If your frame can use a standard much get one as Styles allow little adjustment and are design to bodge on to frames that cannot fit a front much... Did I say bodge, I mean a way to fix a problem on some suspension frames.

I've got one on my 1996 Orange C16R, mounts on the BB and bolts onto a bracket already on the frame, you can get a band on mount for use with frames without the bracket. But then you might as well go for convetional band/clamp on Front mech. I picked up a NOS 739 from a Bankrupt Bike Outlet on eBay for £10, was the easiest set up on a bike ever as the bracket on the BB ensuring perfect allignment with the crankset.
