M739/95x V-brake Tune-Up kit info.
Since I cannot seem to find any now I actually come to want some.

Does anyone have the thickness, internal and external diameters and the material the shims are made from. (and hence can make my own)

And even better a scan of the instructions so I know what to do with them ?

I think they did 2 or 3 different kits if anyone knows the difference ?

Mine rattle but have never screamed, though I do run a lot of toe in.

I found the esiest way to stop the rattle is a very small and narrow zip tie around the body of the cantilever arm and the moving rattly bit done up just tight enough. The mechanism will still move and slide perfectly but no longer rattle.

Personally I like the rattle, shows the proles that I have XT!

From what i remember you get the shims, and also sticker covers and i think also grub screws :?
the shims are just very thin stainless steel washers.i think they are about 10th of a mil each.Certainly theyre thin enough to be flexible :?

Some of you may be lucky enough to have the ( indistinguishable ) Mk II 739 Vs. Shimano specced quite poor bushings ( instead of the tarty XTR bearings ) for the paralellogram mechanism. The buggers screamed like banshees after about a fortnight of British ( read " mud " ) abuse. Yet another fine example of Shimano targeting their Californian demographic.

Think I found somewhere with some, but still don't know the difference between Kit 1 and Kit 2

I'll scan the instructions if and when I get them and see if I can make any

I bought a couple of tune up kits a while back fo future use. If you need a scan of the instructions or want me to take actual measurements/pics, just let me know.

Didnt the mk2's have a solid paralellogram link, and the mk1s where cutout???
