They're here.. and present me with another issue.. (no prizes for guessing **cough**disc only**cough** )..

So what is it exactly that I need??

And any ID on them (they are supposed to be 100mm travel, that's all I know) ??

im quite sure they are dj, cant say what year or model though. looks like they have aftermarket decals. i have heard that the dj series are all pretty similar internally :?

erm yes dirt jumper or dirt jam. not sure of the difference which is why i cant say what your model is. you will need a set of donor forks buddy, to steal the stanchions and crown and steerer assembly

So that whole top bit. . . steerer, crown and the slidey leg bits. .

Just seen Dr S has removed a bonded crown from some SID's and replaced with a clamp-on crown...

Windwave wanted £120 for the parts and £60 to fit them.. is replacing with a clamp crown practical for a novice?

Is it just a case of measuring the diameter of the stanchions (the shiny up and down bits. . not sure if that's the right word for them) and distance apart and matching it up?

for 180 quid you could get those forks brand new! Most likely your crown and stanchions will be press fit. Ive never seen these taken apart

I had to cut off the pressed in crown as it was 1 1/8th and fitted a late 90's Judy DH threadless 1" steerer and crown.
