Got some Bombers coming (don't know what model, just that they are 100mm and need a new crown)..

In my upcoming quest for the aforementioned crown, are they universal among M-braced Bombers?

isnt the crown attached to stanchions?
maybe not if theyre older, but dont the older have a plain crown (not the m shaped one?)

Will have a look when they arrive. . . I hope the crown isn't integral, that sounds like it'll be problematic (or expensive  )

If they are the set I saw on ebay being sold with a completely snapped crown as spares or repair, then a new crown will be expensive.

As far as I know all the M-arch crowns have the steerer and stanctions bonded together. I think replacements may be available from Windwave though but if they are they will be pricey.

D'oh!!

Found them in the last minute, they're local, didn't have the chance to ask if I could collect so jumped in..

Got 'em for £1.20 but the buyer won't let me collect so I have to cough up his £12.50 postage..

Still.. £13.70?? ain't so bad....

Ermmmmm..... how (roughly) expensive?? :!:

Already paid . . . spent a fair few messages back and forth trying to get me there in person but the only time he gave me was stupid early on one morning and it just wasn't do-able. . .

I'll assess the situation (and the space in the bin) when they get here..

A fool and his money eh??

Only really a couple of pints worth so I'm sure they will be worth it as spares . I always feel a bit silly paying such a small amount in person , especially when you both know it's worth more .

I did say I was going to give him a fiver in person since we both knew they were worth more in reality (or at least I thought so at the time ;) ).. that was when he gave me a day/time that I couldn't make. .

Once won a set of 4 decent wheels and tyres for my 4x4 for £11...... made the Wife hand the cash over

On the M brace marzocchis i have, the crown is one piece along with the steerer and stanchions, theyre all bonded in.You may be able to press out the steerer with a bit of heat and a hydraulic press but the stanchions are set and i would advise strongly against trying to replace them
