Lycra

wear it under other stuff. Yes you look like a gimp in it, but it is the most comfortable thing to wear on a bike

I probably shouldn't...but I do...best thing for comfort I think, got my first apir of bibs last year after 20 years in just shorts, there great.

I can't really see a problem with it.

lycra, probably the best material invented for cycling.
generally i wear my lycra shorts under my baggy shorts.
and i wear lycra tops under t shirts unless the sun is blazing.

but if you just can't wear lycra, dont. there's more important things to think about.
like should i wear my blue socks or the black ones ?

I said no until i did now i do.

Same with the padded shorts.

Do it, you'll never look back, or the same again.

Black every time, blue just look like you forgot your cycling socks.

Road riding though, in the dry, then it HAS to be white, or those little short socks that make it look like your not wearing socks. Excellent for tan lines.

Lycra looks right on an old XC bike but you look a tit if your not on or beside your bike. Comfort is king, wear what you preffer. I like lycra shorts worn under baggy shorts and a loose top. Full race lycra makes me look like a stick insect
