Would like to know more about the shifters. Where does STX sit in the shimano heirachy? Better than XT? Sorry - clearly a newbie to this

mid range in mid-late 1990s but still available new these days as Shimano's only stand alone (ie not STI combined brake lever & gear shifters) 7 speed shifter, nice bit of kit
