I'm after a bit more offroad capacity with guards. 37-38mm doesn't quite cut it for this bike slot

I'd say this frame is perfect for fast touring and plenty capable for touring off the beaten track fully loaded without turning to jelly....if you need more off-road bias id be looking to a 26" or 650b frame...chunkies and mudguards eh...whatever next

I know it'd open more can of worms but I'd look to french rando/town bikes ....650b and cantis....retro steel ...yum

PS Apologies - don't mean to hijack the sales thread. The dawes is great, it's just that I already have similar-ish 700c bike.

Just checking with the seller that there are no rust holes in the tubes...
I am well aware of the issues with old French frames though. A pal is building up what we believe to be a Stella SX-75/76 frame. Everything's different from modern standards.
