All children (like adults) need a lot of encouragement and patience, and occasionally a good clip around the ear. There are those who are victim to the kind of parents (and medical professionals) with a very short attention span. It appears ANY sign demonstrated by a child connected to one of the psycological conditions outlined in the show would qualify them to be put on some kind of tranquillizer or anti depressant.

I was surprised when one of the medical professionals admitted he didn't think one of the children in the show really needed to be on any medication. I suspect most didn't by the end of it. The girl was plainly playing on her need for medication.

Children are challenging, frustrating and selfish beasts. But they REALLY need their parent's love and approval. That means their TIME; something many parents don't appear to have for their kids. Engage a child in some stimulating pursuit and magically the symptoms connected to many of these complexes stop.
