Lost some teeth over Christmas

Wondered why I was struggling to shift into the middle ring too. Hmmm three missing, careless of me not to notice that really.

Of course I could just chuck out my obsolete old M739 and go nine-speed. Only joking! Am I right in assuming that Middleburn make better rings than Big S do? And has anybody any experience of whether slick shift and hardcoat are worth the extra?

middleburn rings

I have Middleburn hardcoat rings on my Seven, they seem to shift about the same as SHimano. Neither better or worse.

I think front gear change is more about the operator than the kit. I make some really bad changes and i'm using 07 kit  Then some times its sweet. :?

Certainly better in terms of longevity - they are far superior in terms of manufacturing and material quality. I think you'd be hard-pushed to notice any real change in shifting from Shimano. Not sure about the Slickshift & Hardcoat options - the former were always out of my price range!

They shift okay, I don't tend to have many problems with them. They do last for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages though, well worth the money I think.
