Lost in the Post.

After dealing with ebay for five years without problem, I appear to have become a victim of lost in the post, an item I ordered before xmas has not yet arrived. Now, it is possible the item was not sent, which is in my mind, but the seller's feedback does not indicate any of this kind of practice, so I am thinking it has got to be the Royal Mail and there thoughts of some light fingered postie.

But I am very patient, and part of my mind thinks the item will turn up at some point, but I do fail to see how items can get lost in the post these days what with all the technology in use.

So, has anyone else suffered this kind of situation with ebay, items not arriving and the eventual resolution if any ?

l sold some XTR V brake levers on ebay in november, sent them standard parcel. About a month later the buyer emailed me saying they had not arrived and he wanted his money back!

Been ebaying since 2003 and its the first time it had ever happened to me. As luck would have it, they turned up the next day at his house.

So your parcel may yet turn up

I bought a hub that never arrived, let the seller know after 3 weeks and said I would wait 1 more week. It never arrived and they refunded with no objections.

Purchased something from the Far East mid November, hadn't arrived by first week in January.. informed the seller and they re-shipped for me.

Happened a few times.. yup, things still do go missing in the post..

Mostly the seller either re-ships or refunds without issue.

Don't be disheartened just yet.....

Some of my xmas presents have turned into birthday presents due to the almighty balls up with the weather, most things I/we ordered for xmas turned up fine but some didn't, got sent back to the shop without being delivered and then were completely forgotten about!!!! :roll: :roll: :roll:

Well that's what the missus said anyway......

I got three christmas card last week! The mail seems to be taking a while to recover from December.

A friend spent around £2000 on a guitar a couple of years ago that never arrived. After much rage and complaints etc he go an e-mail from the sellers parents, he had collapsed with a brain haemorage (sp) and had been in a coma for 2 months and nobody has his computer password. He's come out the coma and one of his first concerns were his e-bay sales.

As others have had, had one ebay item not arrive (was posted as signed for), and no card through the door. Had my money refunded. Sometimes it happens - but sender can claim back from post-office.

bought a divers automatic watch from the philipines last monday...it arrived today..ill never send to italy though...always gets lost when you send there....

I've had similar experiences as both a seller and a buyer. Items from America have been returned to Sender already, and I'm still waiting for them to be redelivered.....

I sold a load of parts on here and got them out before xmas but 5 out of 6 of them got returned to me, apparently 'unable to deliver' - believeable if it was maybe 1, but not that many.

Hang in there, it should all be good in the end, and if not, hopefully you can get it all sorted thru ebay/paypal.
