Loss of tension in Campag 9 speed rear mech

Hi all,

I've swapped groupsets from one bike to another this weekend. Upon fitting the rear mech and chain i've discovered that there is no tension in the rear mech coupled with a very loose chain.

Has anyone come across this before and could help me out? Campagnolo 9 speed (Chorus).

Update: removed a couple of links from the chain and it's now spot on!
