Looking for Mongoose information...

So I picked up a 96' Mongoose Sycamore SX yesterday fairly inexpensively and have been searching for information on it. Of course the majority of literature from the mid 90's is BMX related so I haven't been able to find much. Does anyone have a good source or know where I can track down specifics on this model? Thanks!

It was mongoose recreational MTB, below sport and pro; the sx was their designation for front suspension. Probably Shimano AceraX throughout, with a rock shox quad 5 shock. Retailed for around $450.

Yeah, thats exactly how it's sorted. I was pleasently surprised after picking the bike up... everything looks barely used and the quadras feel barely ridden... I figured for sure they would be shot. I was going to update it but considering the condition she'll stay original for awhile. Great pub-bike (Bar bike here in the states ) and see some light trails. Very nimble and chuckable. i rescued it from my mates shed a while back, it was covered in paint had a seized bottom bracket, pringled wheels and seized mechs. A bit of tlc some new parts and she's almost box fresh!

Glad that I looked on here. I just bought this bike for 130 from a side of the road sale. Looks great and rides good too. I would like to thank you for more info on it, I felt like I was getting a bad deal but it seems solid.

Mate these are an honest bike from when Mongoose sold half decent kit. I sold a Mongoose NX9 DH bike a whilst back and kick myself as it was such a sweet bike. I love riding this Sycamore, it reminds me of when you got your first proper MTB after riding the proverbial BSO. Solid bikes that deserve a decent upgrade. I'm thinking of getting a full DX groupo for this bike and upgrading the stem and seatpost to period Syncros or similar.

I'm of the opinion that 130 is too much, sorry. Upper models from the Mongoose lineup for that year, with way better components can be had for that same price or less. I would not pay more than 60 for this bike, if in perfect condition, and I had no other options, which I know I would, if patient and looking.

Again, don't mean to pour salt in wounds, but it's my honest opinion.
