Looking for a top spec Xizang for photo/film shoot

Sorry, I'm back in the Great White North now for reasons I won't bore people with. I'd love to be there, but another transatlantic round trip avec bike doesn't appeal logistically or financially at the moment. Sorry.

Date change??

Hi all,

Would people be happy with a date change? Maybe postpone a week or two?

Could anyone who can make it early November and have a Xizang ready to go post up a reply?

Will get on the components hunt in the morning and post up a spec list for the build.

Happy with a date or location change but the new date might clash with some family events I can't miss so I can only confirm once the date options have been announced.

Sorry - been out of it for a while, am in the middle of moving house, pretty easy on dates - 29th is OK for me other than that just let me know when and where.

Weekends or mid week are OK and the further south the better but the lakes would be OK.

We have a build list!

Hi all,

Apologies again for the delay in posting.

I have steadily been collecting parts for this build, I'm still waiting on some but here is a list so far of what I have.

GT Xizang frame 26"
Hope PRO 3 SP6 Wheelset
Charge Splashback Gumwall tyres
Hope bolt blue seat clamp
Hope blue rear skewer
Hope Race X2 brakes
Hope stainless BB
Thomson Stem with blue faceplate
Flite classic saddle in blue

I'm still waiting on some finishing kit and if I can get it I will be using a Syncros seatpost and bars. Also an XTR drivetrain will hopefully arrive soon as will some SID forks.

Then that is pretty much everything and I can start putting it together! I am going to do a short film about the bike and then when we do finally meet up we can discuss and photograph the old with the new.

As I am still awaiting some components we will have to push this back to later in November if that's ok with people?

I will post some photos of the parts when I get a minute to take some.

Build Update + Calling Xizangs owners

Hi all,

Got a big box of XTR stuff this morning so just waiting for forks now and then the bike will get built up.

November has filled up pretty fast and the whole thing has taken longer than anticipated but looking at a December date for a meet up if people are available.

nevadasmith - The Ken - TimHildreth can any of you guys make a December date? Bit of a winter ride could be nice!?

December is really unlikely for me, xmas DIY & several nights out have filled all the weekends till next year. I'll only get out locally for now.

I'll be riding my Xizang on a 60K around ben nevis at the weekend, if you want a proper review you could lend me your's for that

Depends on the date you were thinking? cant the 3rd or 17th for defo, and more south is better for me (Yorkshire Dales?)
