Looking for a bike

Hi,
Its been a while since I was on here last, I looking for a bike to assemble over the winter,17 or 18 inch frame I think.
Ive seen

Both my old P7 and the Saracen I had were 19 inch frakes and I found them to feel a bit big,
ive also seen 2 bear valley SE models on ebay.
Any advice I know some are complete bikes and some are frames so not sure which way to go, I always thought buy the best frame first then build on that?. Oh and I saw the Bontrager Privateer but its a little out of my price range at the moment.

Out of those two Mark I’d go for the Specialized, buy a quality frame then go from there
