Picked this up a little while ago and have been tinkering with it in the office garage whenever I have five mins. Finally got it rideable today - and what fun it is to ride! :D

All original bar the saddle as far as I can see (would it have come with tan wall panaracers?)

All standard deore (MT60 I believe?) except the u-brakes (plural! :D) which are XT.

Re:

Nice one, welcome to the club 8)

Tyres were Hutchinson originally IIRC, similar tread pattern to Tioga Farmer Johns.

 Do you ride it like that

Get on the London to Brighton on that bad boy Joe!

Ash is being modest, check his rebuild thread, it's inspiring!

Re:

I found Ash's thread when figuring out the year (also being the 'no catalogue' year). Inspiring indeed, for me as much for the seseatpost removal - I have three waiting to be tackled! Gonna try ammonia first. Great job on your Trekker Ash! :D

I do ride it like that and for that reason it won't be a keeper and I wouldn't fancy 60 odd miles on it! The short reach makes it very rideable and lots of fun for short rides. Never had anything that handles quite like it but then bikes that size rarely fit me. This one almost does - I need slightly more legroom.

Wanna give it a few runs out but will eventually be shifting it on. Just couldn't resist, it's one of those bikes that I will always be glad to have tried.
