Long Weekend Baiku
Friday: Dry day, warm but a little overcast….perfect for a long session in the saddle….spin down the road to meet Mike….hit the trails….bit of mud here and there but mainly fast going….talk bikes and cars….an hour has elapsed and Mike peels off and goes to work…I smile safe in the knowledge that I’m staying out longer
….flick up to the big ring and press on….back into the woods and wind the pace up….out to the edge of RAF Waddington and a noise like thunder erupts from the skies….look up to see the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane banking over….fantastic 
….wind back through the footpaths to the village coffee shop….quick bit of flapjack and then home….shower and off to pick new car up 
Saturday: Hot sun but no riding….strip down the Avalanche….proper cleaning session….sort the disc brakes….polish my SPIN….start stripping paint of an old black seatpost….too long out in the sun….get sunburnt
Sunday: Early morning ride….clear skies and warmth…first ride of the year in short sleeve jersey ….dry hardpacked trails greet my tyres….out onto the footpaths to many a ‘good morning’ from walkers with their dogs on leads :shock: ….makes a change I think to myself….blast through the woods and catch a little air time over a log jump….along the farm track and out to the lakes….they look stunning in the sunshine ….back down the footpaths and to the derelict barns and pause to take a photo….quick spin along the road and back home to domestic duties….best weekend of my life
PS: If you look very closely at photo 535, the small speck in the middle of the screen is the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane; honest! Thats camera phones for you :roll:
