Long drop brakes- retro or modern?

I've picked up a massive 26" ctc 79s condor and plan to upgrade to 700c wheels. So should I go mafac racers or something like some extra long drop Tektros? And if I go modern will I be able to run them with vintage levers?

Re:

I think old skool Weinnman centrepulls with modern blocks work really well. they do those in a 730 drop too

Re:

Cheers all.

Weinmann 750s are a good idea, it came with 610s. Plus they're a cheap option. I can switch to Tektro if they don't work out.

Build plans... I was hoping to just wipe and wax but it's going to have to go for a refresh. I don't want to blow loads on it so it's off for a powder coat- probably cherry red. I have shimano 600 arabesque gears to go on it and some 90s mavic beater wheels to get it rolling. I think it had first gen Dura Ace originally as the sawn off shifters were acting as a cable stop! I also need to source a suitable crankset and probably some SR Road Champion bars to match the stem.

It'll be my winter commuter when it's done.
