Lock ring replacement.

These things are not easy to buy on the interweb.
Maybe not, but most well-established bike shops should be able to find you something that will work. Most modern bottom brackets don't use that pattern, but a few that have been manufactured in recent years still do, and until the early nineties that was the standard form of lockring. The Dura Ace 7700 BB used a lockring that will be compatible. Royce bottom brackets still do, along with some models from TA, FSA, and I'm sure there are others. It may also be cheaper to have the shop fit it than to buy the necessary tools.

Alternatively, put a "want" ad on this forum for an English-threaded lockring for an adjustable bottom bracket cup (left hand side, right hand thread). I'll bet there are dozens knocking around in peoples' spare parts collections.

Maybe its time to upgrade to more modern stuff eh? :)
Pah!

Thankyou very much for that. This website never ceases to amaze me with peoples willingness to help others. I am lost for words..almost :)

It is the "right hand side non chainring side" that was busted. Is it still the same part I need?

Thanks again.

Yeah, we're on the same page, but it pays to be careful with definitions. The part you need has a right-hand (conventional) thread, i.e. it tightens clockwise, and that's why the cup in your picture has "RH" stamped on it. That's conventionally called the left cup, because it's on the left hand side of the bike as you ride it, so left hand side, but right hand thread! Some call it the non-drive side.

The drive side, or right hand side bottom bracket cup of an English bottom bracket has a reversed, or left-hand thread, tightening anticlockwise, so a lockring designed for the drive side cup won't work for you here.

It's worth reading through Sheldon Brown's glossary article just to make sure you've got it all straight.
