Lock ring replacement.

I seem to have snapped the lock ring(?) on my Hope bottom bracket (square taper, steel about 10 years old).
Can I get one of these from my local bike shop or do I need to order one from Hope themselves? Is it a common part that any LBS will have?

I also need the tool that tightens the lock ring AND the tool that tightens the bottom bracket itself. What are these called please?

Many thanks in advance.
Paul

the tool you need is a lock ring spanner, or you could use a hammer and punch, if you're gentle with it...

Also any fixie sprocket lockring is the same size!
No it ain't!

A fixed sprocket has the same thread, so in principle you could use one as an outlandish lockring. Track hub lockring threads are smaller, left-handed, and vary in dimensions from manufacturer to manufacturer.

+1
I just read up on the fixie sprocket as I nearly bought one from fleabay.

These things are not easy to buy on the interweb.

Maybe its time to upgrade to more modern stuff eh? :)
