I can write retrobike on a sainsburys bag in marker and send you that for £1 if that suits?

In all seriousness I really don't appreciate the negative comments on pricing on this thread.

The bags are a custom design which we're selling on at cost. If you have issue please contact bagaboo directly. I suspect you'll get shorter shrift from them than us.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause offence.
But you asked if I'd buy a retrobike courier bag, and I merely answered your question and added an alternative. I was trying to help.
Brixton bicycles sells these for £15. They're cheap, they work really well (just ask the paperboys who've been using them for decades), and if a website like yours made them, I'd buy one. But the bag you're proposing, great as I'm sure as it is could buy me a pretty decent old bike!

It's not as flash as a courier bag, but you can get a professionally printed newspaper delivery bags as used by paperboys in flourescent orange or yellow printed with whatever logo you like for about £10, if you buy in bulk.
I'd buy one that cost £10, but I can't justify £130.

I thought that was a fairly well measured comment? One of the poll questions does mention price and the poster has come up with another option to consider :?

Hi Ed,

can you have extras on the bag ie. a laptop sleeve or have you got to order them all identical?

Chris.

Pretty sure that you can get all the extras listed on the Bagaboo site (dividers etc.) but will confirm and price if you can let me know exactly what you want

Cheers

Ed

Been in touch with Bagaboo re. your query Chris, here you go:

If we order six or more bags then a laptop sleeve would be an additional £15 on just one (Bagaboo also advise that they need to know the laptop size as they are made to fit, the slleve attached to velcro inside the bag which can't be retrofitted so even if bag now, laptop sleeve later it's as well to get the velcro fitted at the time of order).

Extra reflective strips can also be added to some bags if individuals require, upcharge likely to be £6 per bag. Might be able to negotiate a better price if all the bags have sleeves and/or extra reflective material.

Oh, and we can mix and match the size of bags in our order (e.g. 6 bags = 2 Medium, 3 Large, 1 XL) at the prices originally quoted

I bought a XL Bagaboo workhorse bag last year from Tamas. I have used the bag every single day for the last 14months. It is bomb proof. I can fit my weekly shop in in, on the days that it has pissed it down on my way to work when I've been drenched my change of clothes inside the bag has been bone dry, the strap design is a joy to use, pockets well planned out etc. This bag has become one of my favorite possessions (yes, I'm a little strange)

When I ordered it I was kicking myself for spending £100 odd quid on a bag, but after receiving it and seeing the quality and now after much use I fully appreciate it is money well spent. Timbuk II's are cheap and mass produced in comparison and the likes of PAC design etc are a good 100 quid more for a equal bag. After chatting to a chap from Brick Lane bikes in London at the Cycle show he confirmed that the Bagaboo bags offer the best value for money.

If you want a cheap throw away bag that is going to last you a couple of years then spend £30 quid on a light nylon bag. If you carry loads on your bike regularly or want a bag that you can rely on to keep things dry for years to come without falling apart then dig deeper.

Thanks Steve, great to have first hand testimony.

Now what has happened to the 7 people who responded to the poll and said they'd have one..... :? :?
