Up for sale a 1991 Campagnolo 8s Croce d'Aune rear derailleur.
The Croce d'Aune was the 2nd group just after the Record one; the only difference between this rear mech and the Record one are pulleys: each Record pulley contained 12 ball bearings, while Croce d'Aune pulleys spin on bushings, just like current rear mechs.
This rear derailleur is also suitable with Campy 7s groups and pre-2001 9s Campy groups as they all have the same parallelogram geometry.
As you can see in the pics, it's in excellent conditions, pulleys are plenty of life, there is no play in joints. There is one mark I pointed out in one photo with a red circle.
The price is 60 euro; registered shipping to everywhere in Europe costs 10.
More pics are available upon request.

Re: like new 1991 Campagnolo Croce d'Aune 8 speed rear mech

Rather interestingly in that inevitable Campagnolo way there are some other differences between the CDA and Record versions...

1. Record has cast alloy back to main parallelogram
2. Record has cage drop rate adjustment screw
3. CDA has knurled barrel adjuster
4. CDA has nutted cable bolt, Record is hex

Re: like new 1991 Campagnolo Croce d'Aune 8 speed rear mech

Campagnolo's policy has always been the same: they use to change some small parts to distinguish the same component of different groups.
So it's possible that the parallelogram back on Record had a better surface finishing.
And it's also possible that Record rear mech had a different tension cable ajustment screw and a different cable fixing screw.
To be honest I do not remember the above mentioned details and detailed pics of 1991 Record rear mech would be useful here; if you have them, I'll be happy if you post them here.
But the CDA has the cage drop rate adjustment screw as well; please have a look at 3055 pic.
Anyway CDA e Record rear mechs are the same object except for some details that are unuseful to a correct matching with chain, sprockets, Ergos or shifters; so that CDA is the perfect subsitute for Record if you are not willing to pay huge money.
Thanks for the note.

Re:

Just to add to the confusion further, here is a unit I found a few years back. In this thread I attempt to draw comparisons with what I suspect is the same unit as yours.

Also, I was wrong about the cast back, this was never a feature of this variant.

Re:

There were many variants of CDA, my rear mech is an earlier one and the Jockeys runs on the 12 BB's with adjustable cones and it has the pushrod parallelogram mechanism. It was lighter than Record too.
Your version is a bargain for one in that condition!

Re: Re:

Yes, I remember it (I owe two! One with a medium cage, another with a short cage).
The mechanism was very unusual; Campagnolo called it Twin Axle System.
It was produced in 1989.
