Light tyres

Maxxis 310's (as in 310g) on my Explosif, but I gave up on sub-100g tubes as they puncture too easily...

Love to try some of those - especially tubeless - how'd you get on with them? 8)

Thinking about it for what you need the Charge Splashback tyres would do the job.

Not super light, but that makes them stronger and last longer. (I have some twister supersonics, they are crap for most things, attract the tiniest thorns and wear out damn quick, people say the maxxis 310 things and other similar race whippet in the dust tyres do the same)

But light enough and roll well and give you a close to amber wall look.

~450g claims for the 1.8, but heavier for the 2.1.

Shop around they often drop down in offers.

Foss do a fancy expensive innertube you can look at. Again after using super light inner tubes, don't bother.
They really don't make you experience that much better*. A modern tyre does the job over old tyres.

*better being easier and more predictable, not a fun rating ;)

Just as a heads up I bought some of these last week and disappointingly they weighed 525gr for the 1.8" version. I found an online review
http://www.cyclistno1.co.uk/gear/components/tyres/charge-splashback.htm which also mentions the 2.1 version being considerably heavier than claimed and Charge claim the weights on the packaging are a mis-print
Only paid £21 each though, and yet to try out their performance (weight isn't everything but this is a thread about light tyres so...)

My tyres of choice at the moment are either Schwalbe Smart Sam or Panaracer Fire XC Pro.

Not superlight, but decently priced and good on lots of different terrain.
