Lifetime Oakley Warranty in 1994?

Hi - I have some very old Oakley M-Frame Lenses. I bought one of them in 1994 and the tabs which go into the frames have started cracking. Now I'm pretty sure that back in 1994, Oakleys came with a lifetime warranty unlike the 1 year warranty they give now.

Is this the case?

Oh - today I was going through some old stuff at my parents hose and in a very old wallet, I found the receipt for the lens!!

Hi Mike. Arguably they should honour your warranty claim, esp with the receipt still available. Funnily enough my Mumbo's have the same problem.

You looking to sell them if you get a replacement?

Hi - The frame broke and they replaced them at cost price (new frames for £14), so I don't have the early frame any more. :(

I do have a new frame, but the old style hybrid lens doesn't fit, so I'll be selling that - it is a hybrid black iridium and will only fit the original M-Frame Mumbos. I also have an original boxed clear nose and earpiece set I'll be selling.

I also have some gold iridium burnt savannah Sub Zeros going on ebay tomorrow (also 1994).

BTW, from your avatar, I figure you may be interested in my own website:

I sent a broken frame back with my receipt and got a new one free. Your lens claim sounds fair enough, try them.

The frame on my 11 year old eye jackets snapped so i sent them to oakley who replaced the frame for free, great service and very prompt!
My circa '94 m frames are lightly cracked in a couple of places but i hardly ever wear them. Might try and send them back as well. From memory they are the "fingerprint" effect black frame with one iridium lense and one persimmon lense.
