Just bought a pair today and theyre not too bad :D
Windproof at the front and nice against the skin.Grippers on the ankles and zips too.Reflective trim.
Downside i feel is the pad is badly placed, seems a little too far forward :? though i havent ridden in them as yet
Size-
Im a 35" waist approximate with roughly the same in leg length.I opted for the XL sie and ive found its a very good fit all round,a little short on me at my skinny 6'3" so its about 4" above my ankle but still below the calf muscle and im happy with that.

All in all a good purchase for £6.99

They do a mid calf version, so watch out and check the packet carefully[small pic on front at bottom]

Still on the budget supermarket theme, on the last couple of visits to Aldi I've picked up a large size can of GT85 spray for £2.99 which undercuts Halfords by a couple of quid.

I got a pair of Lidl legwarmers as a Christmas stocking filler - excellent value for money, just the job for cyclo-cross racing. Their cycling socks are really good too.

They are a good winter long but they get very hot as soon as the weather rises above 10c

From looking at the specs it seems the wind proof front section is just 2 sections of fleece with polythene in between them.Likely to sweat under it i think but we'll see.

Unfortunately you're right - the pad placement is just completely wrong (for men, anyway) and it spoils them as it can be pretty uncomfortable (though they do "wear in" a little bit).

I still think they were designed by a woman who bears a massive grudge against men...

They are extremely warm though.

Problem solved :D
Ive spent the last hour very carefully picking out the stitching holding the pad on.The 2 are now separate and i am left with a nice and comfy windproof long that i can wear with normal padded shorts

Result :D

Be very careful if youre doing the same as it is very easy to go through the trouser material.
worth the effort 8)

You're a braver man than me! I've thought about doing that practically every time I've gone out wearing them but knowing your success story I might actually get round to it. About November probably, once it's cold enough to wear them again :)
