anyway - just built (and now using) an entirely tip built PC

E-Machines box 'o bits with multi card reader

Celeron 1.6ghz

2 gig RAM

300gb SATA II (?) drive

22" Acer monitor

DVD multi writer

decent sound card

genuine validated Vista home basic

all recycled from the tip! and not a penny spent

got to grips with the 'easy transfer' cable from my old tip built machine and everything seems ok.

I hate seeing stuff like that being thrown away, especially when it can be offered on freecycle and people will take it, even saves the trip down to the tip.

Can't believe you even got a genuine copy of vista, it's madness. Must be satifying making use of things people thought of as rubbish, more fool them!

Theres a 4 foot high concrete wall at our tip (or recycling centre as its now called) and once you have thrown it over thats it..no bikes set aside or anything like that.

Maybe I should travel for a better tip

Any tips for sucessful MTB bin diving LGF?

talk to the people that run the site, talk to the council, explain that valuable bikes/ parts are being sold for scrap etc.
