Let's play cops and robbers....

The taxpayer was robbed when the cops bought all this crap in the first place.
It wasn't just this force either.

Surely there was someone in police procurement who knew a little about bicycles?

Obviously not. 😪

I've always wondered why they make police ride bikes, hardly useful when fighting crime when you worry about your police bikes getting nicked because the police won't do bugger all about bike theft in the first place, you just get given a crime reference number..

Quite a few bristolians dont even get that.
Obvs the police on bikes gives them a wider presence than on foot, and more approachable than in an X5.

Sadly I don't think cycling in a stab vest is comfortable🙁

H&S probably doesn't like it either.
They might fall off!

At one point my wife's employer h&s rules meant she had to wear hiviz, goggles and a hard hat if she took the bus while at work🤣

I shouldn't say
( in case she kills me🤣)
but I don't think it's about the actual work environment, rather the Zeal and Reach of the H&S team.

The respect they command appears cyclical.

Speaking of health and safety, although I won't mention the company, (their products are used in construction of various everyday things) myself and @legrandefromage had to dress in full womble suit (orange hi-vis jackets and trousers) hard hat, safety boots, gloves, glasses, etc. To walk across a carpark to work on the HGVS, while the lorry drivers had shorts and tshirts on
