someone kindly lent me their Vista disc so I could finish the desktop PC I'm on now.

I've a nice dual core that I would like to resurrect and just need Vista...?

I just need the disc, then we will worry about whether Vista is any good or not. I just want the comp up and running.

Downloading it is not an option with 0.9 meg broadband speed.

I have Windows Vista and I'd be happy to send you a copy.

However does anyone know:

1. If you can copy the disc?

2. My copy is an OEM edition, so it's for 64-bit processors only and it's Vista Ultimate, would you need a Vista Ultimate Registration code for it to work?

need a code
disc is copiable but id say tricky if you dont know how/without the right programs

I know a chap who copied Vista and installed it (successfully).. worked ok for a bit (wekk or so - ish) however, since he didn't have the licence for it, it locked his pc completely.
The only way he could get it unlocked was to buy a full version of Vista from Microsoft.

I know it's not what you asked for lgf but I would choose XP over Vista and 7 over XP (this is just an addendum to my post - the point of which was to relay an associates experience ;) )
