If you want to stop those extremists from hating us, we should maybe change our foreign 'neo-imperialistic' policies. You can't go around the world telling everybody what to do, making things worse (like err.. Iraq), installing dictators, overthrowing dictators and in general f***ing things up and then expect everyone to love you! It is hard to accept that 'Team America' is a far more realistic movie than 'Saving Private Ryan' :? .
War on terror = terror
War on Afghanistan=> fail.
War on Iraq=> fail.

At the moment they eyes of Terrorism are watching elsewhere as we in the US and UK along with a few other nations are keeping them occupied.
I've just come back from a stint in Afghan. This is not a failed war. Say that to many Afghans and they will look at you in disbelief. The Taliban controlled much of the countryside with medieval systems, addicted hundreds of thousands to Heroin and waged a war of terrorism by actively harbouring and encouraging organisations that wish to impose a sharia World State. When you look at women who can now become professional persons as once their grandmothers were, you simply cannot say this is a failed war. Thousands of tons of Heroin was harvested each year in Afghanistan, bought off peasant farmers for a pittance by Taliban oppressors. Many Afghan troops and Police are still heroin addicts after years of Taliban abuse. Bin Laden hid behind them and was welcomed and encouraged to stay. Afghan Madrasas actively used as recruiting grounds to wage a war against non believers. This is not a failed war.

And I don't believe that those wars are diverting the attacks from the West to the middle east either, and if they did it wouldn't make a difference to me anyway, I don't want to be rude, but to me there is no difference between 100 people I don't know dying in europe or 100 people I don't know dying in the middle east. 100 people dying sucks either way.

Especially for the afghan people at the moment, because we don't seem to have a lot of troubles when you put your daily frustrations in proportion with what the afghans have to go through.
