lava dome bin £116

And he has received and turned down eight offers, with the buy it now at £116. I wonder what the offers were? There's a lot of jokers on eBay.

Back in the summer, I went for a ride with my pal and lent him my 96 Explosif to ride, while I took a 97 Lava Dome which supposedly is my daughter's. I had no trouble keeping up with him. There is a difference, but it isn't all that great when you take everything else into account and certainly doesn't substantiate one being 'worth' three times as much as the other.

if i didnt already have 2 id be all over this one.

@anthony seems like your the resident kona expert hear but id have to say i can feel a small difference between my lava domes and my explosif.

I don't think we're disagreeing - I said 'There is a difference, but it isn't all that great'.

There's no doubt that the 96 Explosif is stiffer, which makes it feel faster up hills, and yet it is also more compliant and stable down hills. That's down to the more sophisticated frame design. But I don't think the difference is so great that for example you would feel you couldn't keep up on a Lava Dome up a hill because the Explosif rider had such an advantage.

I would expect the eBay bike to raise in excess of £200 if sold well and if it didn't need a service and if the fork wasn't described as 'stiff'. As it stands, it appears to be good value for anybody with maintenance skills.
