Very glad to find that you have a dedicated "how much is my XYZ worth forum" as I am about to commit what is considered the cardinal sin on most other forums and join just to ask that question!
I have a rather tired example of (I believe) a late 80's Claud Butler Spectre, I am pretty sure it is late 80's as I remember my dad buying it...later I adopted it.
It has been largely unused for a good number of years, only getting an occasional ride over the last decade.
It has spots of rust throughout and the gear shift for the rear derailleur has failed making the ride rather joyless as only three gear are available by way of the front derailluer. The fix for this is complicated as the gear shift is integrated with the brake lever, which i would guess makes repair challenging economically.
BUT underneath this all is a rather nicely put together 501 frame and an interesting biopace group set.
I am thinking about bunging it on eBay for £25 collection only... but I may be missing a trick , or indeed, asking too much!
Advice is welcomed!
Best regards,
Chris
