Laptop connection probs

Yes found it on the router settings and before when I had put the wrong password in it said limited or no connection.

I will see if its connecting through Intel tonight (at work at the mo) how do I disable it?

Probably an option saying use WindowsXP Zero Config or something like that. Though grab the drivers from above and install them, of course need a pendrive to do that :D

I've got a dell too, and you should have a service tag on the bottom of the laptop, type that in at the prompt on the support page and you should be fine. If that fails or you don't have a tag, you should be able to enter the model number and be given a list of all the drivers for that model, there shouldn't be any harm in downloading all of them, in fact if my memory serves me correctly, theres an option to do that anyway!

still not sure why it doesnt work for you

It was fine on my own Sky supplied Netgear router, but then I had the disk and started from scratch.

Try your own router installation disk.

If still no joy, let me know and we'll go from there.

(already spent some money on sweets & comics...)

Problem with that I always find is the service tag doesn't actually know what is in the laptop, but does give the model number and sometimes it may. More than likely it'll give all the Wi0Fi driver it may have.
The link I gave goes the the choices for his laptop ;)

Download the xx/xx/2010 driver and give it a go, it's the only one in that list for your laptop for that date Intel 2200 is in the list, about halfway down from memory.

It also might be a simple case of turning off your router and restarting it again. One of those sometimes helps when things get in a pickle.

Or it could be something simple like the 'work offline' thing being tagged in the toolbar, the kids managed to do that to our home computer and it caused me a headache for a while....

or even the settings for the computer as seen on the network ect.are you using windows own wifi prog or one that comes with the laptop.i had the same problem until i told the pc to connect using windows own wifi prog.if your seeing connections but cant connect then its the settings not the pc thats the problem.

Thanks very much to all of you for your help, got it sorted at last contacted Bt Broadband help and they fixed it from there end :D
