Kona Track two forks

Hi

I am looking for a bit of advice.

I have a set of Kona Track two forks, i am guessing they are from around '92 (ish), they are currently attached to a '89 hardrock comp.

I no longer have the space to store my bike and was wondering if there is a market for them and how much they might be worth.

Thank you for any advice

It might be earlier than 1992. But it depends on condition, length and diameter of the steerer tube. You shouldn't have any problems selling it. Although there was a recall on it and that's why they are so rare. There was some sort of fork failure. Cheers and GLWS!

Just sold a nice pair for £120 on the for sale thread. Pretty short steerer too (122mm).

Rare and very nice forks but some were prone to crown failure if i remember....not a nice thought. I'm sure this is why they went back to using Project 2's in 1991 on the Explosif.

I didn't know about the recall at the time and the nice people who sold them to me never mentioned it.
I had managed to bend the original Specialized forks in a crash (bent both legs outwards somehow, not backwards or forwards), bought a set of P2, but when i went to fit them i discovered they had been machined badly where the headset ring sat, so they wouldn't tighten.
I ended up with the Track 2s as i was racing that weekend and needed a working bike, they were in the shop going with a Bontrager frame, this is taking me back to some good days.
I rode them for quite a few years, so maybe i was just lucky with the crown.

This is all i can find on it so far from another forum:-

'Sides of the crown if I recall correctly. It was almost 20 years ago...
Take it for what it's worth. They were all recalled b/c they were failing at a high rate
That was the 2nd generation Track Two that was recalled. The steerer tube would slip & crown would crack. We destroyed dozens at my shop.
The first incarnation of the Track Two was durable, but weighed a ton.'
