I've had a fair few Konas in my time, all ages and specs. It has come to my attention that some forks badged as Project 2's have had 'spinner' as the brand embossed on the drop-out. Does this point to them being P2 copies or does anyone know whether Spinner were commissioned to make forks for Kona at all (as the badging and the bikes these came on have looked pretty authentic to me previously)?

Spinner made the forks (or at least the droputs) for kona i think, my 1993 explosif had it on the fork dropouts. As do my 93 zlinks iirc.

2 sets of P2's that have gone through my hands both had Spinner (or Spinner-Ji) on them. One from a '91 Lava Dome the other from a 1994 Dave Yates Diabolo.

Spinner also made most the GT forks in the early ninties, they were a good manufacturer as far as I remember.

Like Campy, Suntour etc, Spinner made investment cast dropouts which were available to many manufacturers. You could easliy have Spinner drops on a fork made by somebody else. They are nicely made drops as I remember.
