A Anthony Retrobike Rider Feb 20, 2012 #4 It should be quite feasible to cut a thread in any steel steerer, either a later ahead steerer or a threaded steerer that is too long. It may be a dying art (no pun intended), but you just need to find a metal worker with the appropriate die.
