Kona P2 Forks

Ok - That's exactly what I'm looking at.
I assumed the shroud bit came later, so I've got it the wrong way round. Thanks for clearing that up: the photos I've been looking at aren't too clear, but I though I was seeing things.
Not that it will make any odds to what I get, but I like to know these things. (I'll still look for an early one though).
Aye, ment to comment earlier, that frame above did seem expensive. If it is the same thing I'm getting, its a fair bit less I'm paying for the complete bike, but as I've said before - its a blind buy.
The shroud was on the earlier forks, not the later ones.

1988 Project 2 dropout compared to 1995.

No "Lawyer's lips" on the '88 and a completely different shape where they join the fork legs.

The most important difference between up to 93 P2s and 94/later P2s is the axle to crown distance, which was increased from 39cm to 41cm.

For a 96 Kilauea, you need 1994/later P2s that are triple-butted and with the correct steerer length or greater. For the best colour scheme, you need 1996 or 97 P2s. They were the same gunmetal grey colour, 96 were threaded, 97 were ahead. That's quite enough to worry about - I wouldn't worry about the dropouts, they'll be whatever they'll be.

Aye - you're right enough. Cheers for the help everyone. I just like knowing about these things and not had much to do with Kona's before.
