I would like to trade my 1997 original factory race frame for a 17" (not long) Kona Score frame.
The frame I have is a 17" 1997 Kona King Kahuna. This frame was a factory backup race frame.
I really enjoy this bike, and I'll continue to ride it until I find someone to trade. I do not want to sell it for cash at this point in time.
The reason for the trade comes down to riding style. If I try to ride this bike as hard and fast through the rough rooted rocky trails around Seattle and Bellingham as I do on the FS Kona's I'm gonna get hurt. I need a bit more front travel and not so XC/racy geo. I'm also a HUGE Kona fan, I need a Ti OB Kona frame. The Score is the only one I'll consider over this King Kahuna.
This frame is an non-issued backup frame for the Kona race team back in 97. The original owner purchased it from an emplyee at Kona in 1999. He lived in Bellingham (8-10 miles south of Ferndale). I purchased the bike from him in Bellingham as well. Kona tech support also supports the claim that this was an old race frame probably backup for Leslie Greene or Lesley Tomlinson.
