kona kilauea

Heeheehee, who said anything about INSTEAD Anthony? I just wanted an original P2 one to add to my mutant version. Call it sentimentality. Mind you, glad I didn't bid it up now!

I shall keep my eyes peeled anyway. Exchange rate is better on ebay.com than ebay.co.uk too...

Speaking as the owner of a 94 or 95 Kilauea who has yet to find out whether there is any difference whatever between a 94 Kilauea and a 95 Kilauea, I can barely understand why someone with a 94 Kilauea would want a 95 Kilauea instead. But I really fail when it gets to why the owner of a perfectly nice 95 Kilauea would rather have another 95 Kilauea imported from 20,000km away!

And yes it was me who advised the seller - otherwise he would have kept it as a collect-only auction. Just took pity on him and was hoping the bike would be kept in its near-original state and not parted out.

I think there was a few people 'advising him' he was willing to post from day one of the first auction that got pulled :) he held his nerve about a buy it now price though and wouldn't budge even though I imediately offered him £250 :)

Hi, and thanks to you all....most entertaining.

Swifty, You will like the bike, once I get a box sorted it will be posted. Not had much chance yet, but I will sort it. As you stated, posting was always an option, just not a favoured one.

YoungAnthony.....Your advice was appreciated, I was hoping someone would 'take pity' and respond with more bike info for me...... :)

I had lots of advice, from numerous sources.....this forum for one, took from it what I wanted, left the rest out.

Steve, Your £250 buy it now offer was great, gave me an idea that you were pretty hungry for it......I was only lookin for £????...well that would be tellin

....good job Im an honourable type.......I have since been offered MORE ££££ for it.....

Steve, as I said earlier, I will get it boxed and posted ASAP....bit hard with work ATM.

Always be careful when chattin on the web........you never know who's watchin   !!!!!!!!!!! hehehehehe

Thanks

Guy

eBay is a snake-infested swamp and strictly speaking one should never give advice to a seller, but I make an exception when someone is selling a well-preserved near-original bike, because it's a shame to see them split up.

I think the price you eventually realised was about tops for a rigid Kilauea and all credit to you for keeping it so well, but it wouldn't have made much more than half that if you hadn't been willing to post it. Sometimes you see a bike go for say a half of the aggregate value of the components, in which case the buyer may well intend to realise its full value by selling it part by part. I've no idea what Jones intends, but being him it'll be something tasteful. At least when a bike realises its full value, there's no profit to be had from parting it out so whatever is done is done as a matter of taste and not just chasing pennies.

I love it when this happens, really makes me laugh  thanks Guy can't wait to get my hands on it now :)

Cheers
Steve
