Kona Humu Humu Nuku Nuku Apua'a Deluxe

Re:

Hats off to 1st choice finishes in Exeter, well masked, very good job. Frame looks absolutely brilliant, picture doesn't do it justice. Gloss powdercoat, hoping I can do the rest of the build justice.

So its taken a while but its done. Waited for a cheap decent front wheel and rear brake, the bits I needed.

Tried a £7 isis bottom bracket from eBay so we will see what that's like. Seat angle is all wrong, I've only been around the block as took it to LBS to chase the threads for me and they put it together from there.

It's light, its fun, and I'll take it out properly on the weekend.

Re:

Crank fell off so cut my ride short at 13 miles today, but good fun.

Just wish it was bigger as its 18" and I'm used to riding xl 29ers. This hurts my knees a bit.

Wonderful. I'm about to rebuild my old alu Pahoehoe with an RC31, see what sort of weight it builds up at.
Might be a bit too harsh for trail use with a rigid fork. How does the humu ride? Have you had single top tube cromo Konas to compare it too?
Assuming you run your seat a little higher than pictured if you ride XL 29ers?

Re:

I do run it higher, but not a lot, cause today it was a mix of bridleways and hills so out of the seat on most of it.

Re:

Rides well, I don't mind rigid at all, just takes some getting used to going from modern bikes. But nice and direct. Its quite a tight back end so nips along quick, forks are fine, not harsh really, 2.2 tyres for a bit of squash and comfort.

I've had rigid kona before not a humu or twin top tube. Coming from a stooge that was more fun I think, but three times the price. All good though, not downplaying this, just could do with a 20" not an 18"
