Excellent. Seems to be a size 17 1993 Hot, with kit updated a couple of years later.
That would be the right size for you too wouldn't it??
One of them - 16, 17 or 18, depending on the length of the fork. Having said that, I haven't yet tried a size 19 with a 120mm fork and a 60mm stem, but in theory that ought to work well also.

In this case, as I'm not aware that Tom Teesdale ever departed from stock Kona geometry, I assume the frame has pre-suspension geometry. So for any given fork you would need a stem for this frame c20mm shorter than you would use with a 94/later frame.

a nice example of an early Hot with top components of their period.

you can always discuss on somebodys asking price, but the flat rear tyre is a nogo when you want topmoney for it.

l agree, a really lovely bike with top kit but there's no way the seller will get that money with out spending a bit of time cleaning it up and fixing punctures etc.

I think the price is actually ok and if it were the right size (and i wanted another Hot) then I'd buy it for that price.

Ok the paint is not great, but it wouldn't take much to get that looking really nice again.

I think you Australians must have more money than us. In impoverished England, my eBayometer is pointing to below £500, say $800US maximum.

It would partly depend on whether what looks like mottled rust all over the frame is actually a clever painter's effect or creeping rust. The only close up makes it look like a bit of each, so it may well be that a closer picture of the rest of the frame would help him.

creeping rust :( seems that that frame needs a cpl. respray. dont know if that could be solved while keeping the originality of the paint.

either the full bike was used hard as a race bike, or it was abused somehow in the past.
