Re:

I think FluffyChicken is the winner!

I have a 20" 92 Explosif Pro with the exact same dropouts and a similar serial: F1079427

Re:

For the reference, my reasoning.
The date says 1991 build (second character) so it's a 1991 or 1992 model without thinking to hard.
The bulge butted seat tube was only in the Prestige Concept and the only frame with that is the Explosif or Hot frames of 1992. First year the BBT (bulge butted tube) appeared iirc.

Thanks for the help, a few other questions perhaps you kind folk could help me with.

Seatpost size? I've got a 26.6mm here but it moves freely (no clamp) could be a tad snugger. Clamp size looks to be 30mm (measured with crappy ruler). What were they speced with in 92'?

Any recommendations on a guide for the rear brake cable (I don't have the dog collar) and it's going to be built up with new (modern) components, just something cleaner looking than a zip tie for full cable housing.

Trying to decide on a tire for out the back (front is no concern, got a rigid carbon fork with oodles of clearance there) it looks like I won't get more than a 2.0 out back without crimping the chainstays, anyone got a true 2.1, 2.2 outback? X King, Race King? Keen to try some contis.

Re:

29.8/30.0 for the seatclamp.
27.0 is the standard seat post for Konas but can vary by 0.2mm
I think this model you'll find its either 26.8 or 27.0

There are a few posts for Vbrakes on Konas, have a quick search first.
