Looks like a 96 model (sure Anthony will confirm 8) )
Yes, it is a 96 bike. Not that it matters, but I don't know how he managed to spend £550 on it. From memory, they used to cost £400.

I first started to be interested in mtb in 97 and remember the Hahanna was £399 and then I think there was a big reduction in bike prices for 98 owing to falls in the value of the dollar on world markets and I think the Hahanna went down to £339 or something.

That was also around the time when suspension started to take over from the frame in importance, so they began to down-grade the frame quality so they could afford to spec a suspension fork in their base model. Up to about 97, the Hahanna deal was a decent quality frame and forks plus really basic kit, whereas rivals like Trek etc would offer an inferior frame but better kit at the same price level. Then result is that a Hahanna is still worth selling all these years later and most Trek 800s or whatever have long since been scrapped.
