Kona frame numbers

I posted in the road bike forum earlier today with help trying to get some more info on a frame I have but have had no response as yet.

Was wondering if anyone here (Anthony?) knows what info can be gained from reading a Kona frame number in general (as opposed to road frame specifically)?

The frame number is F310K0049 and under this it has 4I-139.

Any info appreciated.

Fairly, 1993 October ?
So a 1994 frame ?

Thanks for that, I know the prototypes were made in 93/94 at least. Check out my thread in the road bike section and see the responses from Tech@konaworld - not much help unfortunately

It doesn't quite follow the MTB numbering, I don't remember letter in one people have put up.
I am also assuming it is a 90's frame (being in the retro section)
So October 2003 and a 2004 model frame?

I'll pop into the road section and see what you have, I don't know anything about the road bikes Kona Kapu are they not ?

Anyways, i'll be over there shortly.
