I've just recently finished building up this Kona for my girlfriend and thought I'd post some pictures up here as this frame has been floating around the forum for a while now! (Some history in this thread: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... t=explosif)
Although it's probably a '98 or '99 model, I couldn't help but go for a classic '95 colour scheme after a set of bronze P2s in the right size came up for sale. I always loved the colour scheme of the '95 Sex One and Mr Gil kindly obliged with a set of decals to complete the look!
The BB threads were a little iffy so I tried a Velo Orange threadless BB (http://store.velo-orange.com/index.php/ ... ckets.html) and was mightily impressed! The bike hasn't done many miles yet so I can't comment on longevity, but installation was a breeze and it feels like a really well built unit. Jamie at Fresh Tripe (the UK importer) was a really nice guy to deal with too!
Here are a couple of pics of the frame in it's current guise!
Cheers,
Matthew
